Chief Financial Officer
General Description of Role:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as a key member of the administrative leadership team, advising the Executive Director and supporting the program directors and/or school administration. The CFO manages and oversees the business and financial operation of CR BOCES including budgeting, purchasing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Qualifications Required:
Education: BA Degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
Experience: Five years working with finance, preferably in a public school or government accounting environment.
Supervisor: CR BOCES Executive Director
Contract Days: 230
Compensation: BOCES CFO Salary Schedule
Working Conditions: Office work, some travel required with potential overnight travel required.
Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of federal and state accounting laws including GASB 34 and CFR 200.
Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and cultivate a positive organizational culture.
High proficiency with accounting software and MS Office applications.
Ability to manage multiple projects, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrateprofessional ethics.
Leadership and Advisory Role
Translates financial data into clear, actionable insights for educational partners and the CR BOCES Board.
Serve on the CR BOCES leadership team aligning fiscal operations with the organization’s mission and vision.
Stays current on educational financial policies and regulations.
Works with directors and school administration to develop program budgets in a fiscally responsible manner.
Financial management and Reporting:
Prepares the CR BOCES annual budget according to applicable laws and regulations that align to the CR BOCES mission and vision.
Advises the Executive Director and the Board on financial planning, risk management, and investments.
Manages revenue streams including but not limited to: CDE flow-through money, grants, and donations.
Develops financial projections to ensure long-term financial stability.
Monitors expenditures and revenues to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
Conducts financial data analysis to project future revenues, expenses, and cash flow.
Maintains accurate financial records with proper expenditure coding in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Implements and evaluates internal controls.
Audit and Compliance:
Maintains compliance with all financial reporting to CDE and all grant reporting.
Applies state accounting principles to financial operations.
Prepares for and assists external independent auditors with all required accounting documents.
Maintains fiscal accountability, transparency, and accuracy always.
Operational Oversight and Support
Oversees accounts payable and accounts receivable processes for accurate and timely completion.
Trains accounts payable and accounts receivable staff in financial software functions.
Oversees Payhawk spending and coding to allocate expenses appropriately
Develops financial systems and procedures to maintain accountability, transparency, and accuracy.
Trains staff at Yampah Mountain High School on Interim procedures.
Oversee insurance, risk management, and asset management.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

BUS DRIVER
General Description of the Role:
Bus Drivers transport students to and from school and field trips, maintain records of transportation, and do basic maintenance of the vehicles.
Qualifications Required:
Education: High School Diploma, District required driver training
Licensure: Colorado Driver’s License, CDL License
Supervisor: Yampah Mountain Schools Principal or Fleet Manager
Contract Days: Based on route schedule
Compensation: Bus Driver Salary Schedule (hourly)
Status: Non-exempt
Working Conditions: Frequent travel required; management and de-escalation of students with aggressive behaviors
Specific Skills Preferred

Good driving record
Ability to work a flexible schedule and be dependable
