At Colorado River BOCES (CRBOCES), we believe every student deserves access to high-quality educational opportunities, regardless of where they live. Through grant partnerships with state, federal, local, and community organizations, CRBOCES expands programs, strengthens services, and provides additional resources that benefit students, educators, and member districts across our region.

Grant partnerships expand access to high-quality instruction, specialized programming, and innovative learning opportunities for students across our region.
During 2025–26, grant funding helped CRBOCES and its partners strengthen educational opportunities ranging from targeted academic and engagement supports to programs designed to remove barriers that can interfere with student success.

Featured Impact: Transportation That Opens Doors
A $30,000 grant from the Garfield County Federal Mineral Lease District helped fund a minibus for Yampah Mountain High School. The bus will provide students with safe, reliable transportation to and from school and help them participate in interim learning experiences and other school activities.

Student Wellness
Student success requires more than academic support. Grant partnerships help CRBOCES and its schools strengthen the systems surrounding students and families. In 2025–26, grant funding supported school counseling, mental health and wellness services, healthy food and nutrition, family engagement, and other supports designed to help students remain healthy, connected, and ready to learn.

Featured Impact: A Stronger Wellness Team at Yampah Mountain High School
At Yampah Mountain High School, students can turn to a clinician from Aspen Hope Center for support with mental health, substance use, and other challenges that can affect their well-being and learning. Funding through the Colorado Department of Education’s School Counselor Corps Grant Program, Student Wellness Grant, and School Health Professional Grant Program helped CRBOCES strengthen the school’s wellness services. Together with Aspen Hope Center, these investments help Yampah identify concerns early and connect students with the support they need.

CDE grant funding provided retention stipends for members of the CRBOCES wellness team during the 2025–26 school year. This investment helped support staff retention and continuity within the team responsible for providing critical wellness services to students and schools across the region.
