General Description

The Colorado River BOCES, in coordination with the Rio Blanco BOCES, is pleased to post the position of coordinator for mentor training and induction. Through the CDE Teacher Retention Grant, the CRBOCES will develop a three year induction program to be implemented in participating districts. As part of this program, teachers from around the region will be recruited to participate in a mentor training program, leading to a “Super Mentor” qualification, which will be used to support novice teachers in each district and across the region. The goal is to increase teacher retention and strengthen induction programming to provide new teachers with training and mentorship to better meet the needs of the students they serve. The Colorado River BOCES will participate as the coordinating and fiscal agency for the program. 



Duties:

  • Coordinate the training for the “Super Mentor” program

  • Coordinate the selection of “Super Mentor” candidates with participating school districts

  • Coordinate the matching of inductees with local and regional “Super Mentors”

  • In conjunction with the Executive Director, research and apply for other grants to help support CRBOCES activities that support teaching, learning and mentoring

  • In conjunction with the Executive Director, refine and expand induction and mentoring programs to include district specific modules and activities

  • Position will be a 220 day position



Qualifications:

  • Teaching Experience Required

  • School level administration preferred

  • District level administration preferred

  • B.A. Required and M.A. preferred



Experience:

  • School District Coordinator Preferred

  • Experience working with multiple districts on a defined project

  • Proven ability to write and obtain grant funding

  • Good understanding of adult learning principles


Salary: The salary range for this position will be $70,000 - $90,00 per year (Year 1 will be prorated in accordance with a hire date and the June 30 fiscal year.)

This job is paid out of a state grant and is anticipated to be funded through the 2020-2021 school year. Further funding will be dependent on additional grant funding or member contributions.
